Leisure Energy is to host a free energy saving seminar at Leisure Industry Week that could help leisure centres cut bills by up to 20 per cent.
The new firm of consultants will aim to offer leisure centres practical advice on how to assess energy usage and devise their own energy efficiency improvements at the session, which is entitled ‘Leisure Energy Healthcheck: Cut Your Utility Bills by up to 20%’.
The company says the needs of leisure centres are unique to dry buildings due to high levels of humidity, aggressive treated wet environments and long hours of operation. A specific approach is needed because of the particular energy footprints of such buildings.
“Leisure centres have no way of benchmarking what their consumption should be for a site of similar size, facility mix and usage,” said Dr Bob Hardwick, director of Leisure Energy. “Quite often simply turning the lights off when an area is not in use is not really addressing the key issues of waste. We can help leisure centres raise awareness of their 24 hour energy usage throughout their organisation and advise what to measure, control and reduce.”
The 45-minute seminar will take place at 10.30am on Wednesday 1 October. For more information on Leisure Energy at Leisure Industry Week, please visit http://www.leisure-energy.com/liw2014/.
