A new, inflatable portable floodlight has been developed by British company Air Structures International, which designs products using what it calls 'rigid air technology'.
I-Lite is the sister product to I-Goal, a range of inflatable goalposts, and both are designed using this patented technology.
I-Lite has been created for sports amenity managers, team trainers and personal trainers who need fast access to powerful floodlighting in situations where mains and generator power is unavailable or undesirable.
The floodlight - weighing in at 10kg - packs into its own small holdall, takes less than three minutes to erect and provides light output for at least three hours from full charge.
The light head is manufactured and trade marked by Osram and is a 12 volt LED unit, IP66-rated for dust and moisture protection. At 3.5m tall once assembled, it offers brighter illumination than a 300W halogen floodlight and wider beam coverage.
I-Lites are designed with a low centre of gravity for better wind stability, using the battery as the primary anchor. For steep gradients and rough ground, lights can be quickly fixed in place using the supplied ground anchors.
