Hanwell Instruments has added to its armoury of devices to protect precious artworks and artefacts with the introduction of the RF Bug.
A discreet 105 x 65cm, making it the smallest of its kind, the RF Bug has been designed to fit into confined spaces - such as behind paintings or inside cabinets - and provide an early warning of temperatures or humidity levels rising to an unacceptable degree.
Enabling sites to carry out wireless monitoring of specific areas, each unit has an internal sensor which provides information on environmental conditions, with sufficient memory to record up to 100,000 readings.
The data is then transmitted at regular intervals to the Radiolog system, where it can be analysed and - if necessary - acted upon.
The RF Bug has a battery life of up to three years, simple software and complies with the relevant RoHS and WEEE EU directives.
